"Next, Uchiha Sasuke." Tsunade flipped past Orochimaru's dossier and read out the next name to be tried.
Naruto and Sakura turned around to see Kakashi escorting Sasuke slowly inside, just like when they had entered the second stage of the Chunin Exam years ago.
"Uchiha Sasuke, genin of Konoha." Ming Jing read from Sasuke's dossier in an even tone. "His teammates from the same class were Uzumaki Naruto and Sakura Haruno, and his supervising jonin was Kakashi Hatake. After experiencing the Chunin Exam and the Konoha Crush Plan, he chose to defect. He then remained hidden in Otogakure, receiving Orochimaru's guidance..."
Ming Jing suddenly stopped reading. He looked at Sasuke in surprise. Though this kid was the second male lead, had plenty of screen time, and had steadily grown stronger, looking back on it, he had actually done very few things that truly betrayed the village. This was a little awkward. Wasn't this rogue ninja terribly neglectful of his duties?
"Charge one: ambushed the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki of Kumogakure, attempting to capture the Eight-Tails. The operation failed, allowing the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki to escape." Ming Jing paused. He couldn't laugh at a time like this. He had to be serious!
"Charge two: attacked the Five Kage Summit. The operation failed. Pfft... Cough, cough, cough. Sorry, could someone pour me a glass of water?" Ming Jing coughed and spoke to Shizune, who stood nearby.
"Of course!" Shizune swiftly poured Ming Jing a glass of water.
Tsunade glared at Ming Jing through gritted teeth, furious.
This was the guy who had proposed a public trial, and this was also the guy who dropped the ball at the crucial moment. Was it really that funny?! But on second thought, Tsunade felt she was having trouble holding it in too.
Sasuke frowned slightly at Ming Jing.
