Meanwhile, the Galactic Republic's armored forces had already launched an assault on the Indjori!
They rode TX-130 hover tanks, using the tanks' extreme speed to race freely across the battlefield and pour overwhelming firepower onto the Indjori.
The Indjori could only take cover behind wreckage and rocks as they returned fire, but the weapons in their hands posed little threat to the TX-130s.
Fortunately, they had also captured some heavy equipment, which gave them at least some ability to fight back. The most numerous of these were AV-7 self-propelled artillery pieces—more than forty in total.
The AV-7 self-propelled artillery was essentially a cannon mounted on a base with mechanical legs so it could move. Its crew had no protection whatsoever when firing. When the Indjori had attacked earlier, the Republic soldiers at those artillery positions had fled without hesitation, making these the weapons captured in the greatest numbers.
Using those forty-plus AV-7 self-propelled artillery pieces as their core, the Indjori began actively constructing a defensive line. For the incomparably savage Indjori, this was an extremely rare sight.
Those human soldiers who had come on a whim also drove Warthog off-road vehicles near the artillery positions to provide cover.
Some engineers also began repairing the AT-TEs and UT-ATs that still looked usable, at least enough to let their guns fire. It was better than nothing.
But even so, it was still far from enough to secure victory!
"Kill!!!" Karina roared, activating the Wing-Flapping Backpack on her back and shooting straight into the air!
The other hundred-plus black Indjori also let out terrifying roars, activated their Wing-Flapping Backpacks, and took flight.
Karina charged alone at the very front. The mechanical wings on her Wing-Flapping Backpack were larger than standard models and faster as well, though correspondingly, exponentially harder to control.
