Satellite Falls (Part 2)
The Eriadu satellite's highest military command was not located near the Planetary Shield Generator, but this was the most heavily defended facility. It included a supermassive reactor dedicated to powering the generator, as well as a shield generator nearly as large as a mountain.
Everyone now knew that the Planetary Shield Generator was under attack, so when it sent out a call for reinforcements, troops from other directions naturally responded at once.
But the fighter squadrons that received the orders and took off in an emergency had never imagined that Reaper was in the sky!
Unlike how many films and television shows portrayed it, an activated Deflector Shield had no color at all. Only when it was struck would energy reactions cause it to display light waves in different spectral colors.
Those fighter squadrons had never expected the Planetary Shield to activate at this moment! And even when the Planetary Shield was activated normally, it would generally be deployed at an altitude of over 50,000 meters, allowing it to protect the planet while still facilitating the deployment of its own military forces.
After taking off, the Republic fighter squadrons pushed their engines to full power, climbing at maximum thrust as they flew toward the Planetary Shield Generator.
But before they had even climbed halfway, they crashed headlong into the newly activated Planetary Shield!!
Let it be emphasized again: the Eriadu satellite was equipped with a two-way shield! It was not the fancy kind that allowed those inside to leave while preventing those outside from entering.
Boom! Boom! Boom!!
More than a hundred fighters were instantly smashed to pieces against the Planetary Shield. Even more fighters behind them, unable to decelerate or turn in time, crashed straight into it as well!
