Mon Calamari Dispute (Part 2)
Through their unceasing struggle, the Quarren had finally won some concessions.
Beginning over four hundred years ago, Quarren had been permitted to work within the highest political circles, and the delegation representing Mon Calamari also included Quarren seats.
Considering the Quarren's fate and status after the war 4,500 years ago, the Mon Calamari had already been more than generous.
But the insatiable Quarren were not satisfied. They wanted more. Increasing numbers of Quarren political groups began pushing for a rotating election for the planet's king, attempting to lay their hands on the highest seat of power.
But this was the Mon Calamari's bottom line, something they would never accept. The Quarren knew that as well, so most of the time, they merely talked about it.
However, amid the political chaos of the Galactic Republic's final years, someone finally began putting that idea into action.
Within Mon Calamari's delegation to the Galactic Senate, the Quarren representative—senator Tikkes—was their leader.
When Count Dooku's Separatist Movement rose to prominence, Tikkes contacted Count Dooku and received his promises and support. He founded the Quarren Isolation League, intending for the Quarren to replace the Mon Calamari as the rulers of the planet.
Count Dooku had also set his sights on the Quarren's outstanding engineering capabilities. He believed that if Tikkes's operation succeeded, he would gain Mon Calamari—arguably one of the foremost industrial planets in the Outer Rim Territories, and one capable of independently designing and building large warships.
That was immensely valuable to the Separatist forces, whose industrial base was extremely weak.
A year ago, when the war had just broken out, Tikkes believed his moment had arrived. He ordered the Quarren Isolation League to launch an uprising on Mon Calamari. He gathered a large number of underwater battle droids
