The three super battleships opened fire furiously from only a few hundred kilometers apart. Pulse laser beams continuously swept across the two Commander II-class Dreadnoughts, while heavy turbolaser blasts kept erupting against the Ankollon-class Titan warship.
Though this battle was nowhere near as spectacular as the clash among hundreds of warships thousands of kilometers away, every bolt and laser beam fired by these three super battleships contained almost as much energy as all those other warships combined!
"General! Fleet Shield fully charged!"
"Activate the Fleet Shield!"
Whoosh~~~~~ A green curtain of light instantly enveloped the Xuanwu Titan warship. When the heavy turbolasers fired by the Commander II-class vessels struck the green barrier, most of their energy was immediately stripped away. By the time they reached the Xuanwu's shields, their power had been reduced to a minimum.
"Reduce firepower output! Redirect the spare energy to cycle the shields!" Admiral Siost ordered grimly aboard the Rosana, a Commander II-class Dreadnought.
"Yes!" At the operators' response, the two Commander II-class Dreadnoughts began reducing their firepower output and channeling more energy into their shields.
"The enemy's pulse laser main battery has fired again! The Katan's shield capacity has entered the danger zone!!" an operator shouted as he turned around.
"Damn it!!" Admiral Siost slammed a fist into the console. Without the protection of a rubber pad, his knuckles split open, but he did not notice. "How much shielding does the Xuanwu have left!?"
"Our main guns are more powerful, but the Xuanwu's shields... still have at least forty percent remaining!" the technician said. "And according to calculations, we still won't be able to break through the Xuanwu's shields before we are sunk..."
"Impossible!! We have already roughly scanned the Xuanwu's energy output. It should only be two to three times that of our Commander
