1137, Pong Krell's Betrayal (Part 1)
"Underground?!" Cody's expression changed drastically at the soldier's report. He shouted, "Notify headquarters immediately! We've detected unknown units advancing underground!"
Before he had even finished speaking, boom!! A violent explosion erupted nearby. Cody instinctively ducked behind the barricade, but the powerful blast still hurled him several meters away, slamming him heavily onto the ground.
"It's Umbarian tanks!!" a Clone Trooper shouted.
Boom! Boom!!
After the fierce explosions, three Umbarian Ghost Tanks appeared ahead. The three Ghost Tanks launched a violent bombardment against the 212th Attack Battalion's position!
The Clone Troopers had no more heavy equipment. They could only fire rockets in return, but with little effect. Infantry rockets could not penetrate the Ghost Tanks' armor.
Cody ordered the few remaining AT-RTs to use their powerful mechanical legs to leap onto the enormous tentacle-like vines around them and attack the Umbarian tanks from the flanks.
However, after the desperate battle during the landing, the 212th Attack Battalion had very few AT-RTs left. They could not even truly launch an attack, only provide limited fire support to prevent the Umbarian tanks from concentrating their fire on the front of their position.
This was all the 212th Attack Battalion could do now. Facing the Umbarians' superior forces, they had no choice but to fight as they retreated.
Taking advantage of a lull in the Umbarian attack, Cody met with several company commanders. He unfolded a holographic terrain map and said, "On the route we took here, there's a forest. The terrain is complicated, and it covers a vast area. Our only chance is to wage guerrilla warfare in that forest and delay the Umbarian reinforcements."
