News that the mechanical Geth race ravaging the Northern Galaxy had been left behind by the Kilik Swarm a hundred thousand years ago quickly spread throughout the Northern Territory.
Although this made little difference to the local defense forces—whether they had been built by the Kilik Swarm or the Balik Swarm, it was all the same. Either way, they had to fight, and if they lost, they would die.
However, there was one unexpected benefit. During this period, nearly everything related to the Kilik Swarm had sold out on the planets of the Northern Galaxy. The residents believed that if they wore a Kilik Swarm token, the Geth would see it and spare their lives when they arrived.
Thus, countless unscrupulous merchants flocked to every planet where Kilik Swarm Relics had been excavated, buying up Kilik remains and cutting them into all kinds of amulets. Some even fashioned them into strange, vicious-looking emblems.
These merchants claimed that the emblems belonged to one Kilik Swarm faction or another, thumping their chests as they guaranteed buyers that the faction represented by the emblem was the very one that had created the Geth.
Never mind that they had simply scraped these emblems from materials found on the Galactic HoloNet. Anyone who put even a little effort into looking it up would know that different Kilik Swarm factions had no such emblems, because each faction possessed completely different pheromones, and any member of the Kilik species could perceive all of this through their sensory organs.
