The two musclemen went at it again, trading heavy blows. This time, however, the furious Zhang Jiarui had the upper hand. He gave Rory Swann, who had been laughing so hard his whole body went limp, a thorough beating until his face was bruised and swollen, then kicked him out of his office.
He then walked over, picked up the glasses he had thrown onto the floor, and put them on—only to find that nothing remained but the frames. Still seething, he crushed the frames into a ball and tossed them away, opened a drawer, took out another pair of glasses, and put them on before finally turning his attention to his computer.
Its screen was filled with countless extremely complex data sets and formulas. To an ordinary person, it would have been utterly incomprehensible. Yet Zhang Jiarui read through it with ease. The more he read, the uglier his expression became. Then he slammed his fist onto the desk, got to his feet, and walked out.
"Where are you going? Doctor Octopus definitely won't let you leave. Ever since he got that blueprint, he's completely obsessed with it," Rory Swann said from where he sat in the hallway.
"No! I can't just watch those idiots in the Army Department reject Thor! They must have only seen Thor's outrageous cost without realizing what makes it truly powerful!" Zhang Jiarui said.
"They really didn't realize it. Mainly because you removed the 250mm cannon I specifically made for Thor and replaced it with a turbolaser!" Rory Swann snapped, poking Zhang Jiarui in the chest. "In your words, this is karma!"
"The hell do you know?" Zhang Jiarui spat the last word straight into Swann's face, spraying him with saliva, then turned and headed for the entrance to the Central Laboratory.
Looking at
