Rebellion on Onderon (Part 1)
The Galactic Republic's massive counteroffensive this time could be called highly ambitious. They relied mainly on several major hyperspace lanes to move their large fleets and transport convoys, then used their naval superiority to launch penetrating attacks into territory controlled by the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
Faced with the Galactic Republic's determined counteroffensive, the Confederacy of Independent Systems had few options. Their main fleet had suffered devastating losses in the Delon system, while their new-generation fleet had yet to fully take shape. Their only choice was to deploy large numbers of droids to defend every planet while hoping that Sefrans Tann's mobile fleet could delay the Republic's advance.
Mid Rim, Onderon.
This was a planet with a very young civilization. It was only during the Mandalorian Wars more than four thousand years ago that human colonists began settling this world and established their own government.
Onderon had also gone through a long feudal era, so even after joining the Galactic Republic, it retained many of its traditions.
Those traditions were reflected in the planet's monarchy, as well as the feudal-style architecture and clothing seen throughout its cities.
The planet's total population was not large, numbering fewer than ten million, yet it still possessed relatively advanced industry.
Long before the war broke out, the InterGalactic Banking Clan had already made considerable investments on this planet. Later, after Chairman San Hill obtained the technology for the Behemoth-class battlecruiser from Tang Xiao, production lines were also built on Onderon.
