These two chapters will roughly explain the origins of the Sith Lords.
Darth Malthael piloted the shuttle toward the ochre planet before him.
This was also the only planet in the Horuset system. It was a massive world over 16,000 kilometers in diameter, with seven moons orbiting around it.
Moreover, the planet's orbit was distant and slow, taking one and a half times as long as Coruscant's orbital period—the basis for the Milky Way Galaxy's standard calendar—at more than 780 standard days. This made the planet's environment extremely harsh. Most of its surface was desert and barren wasteland, with only a small amount of surface water.
If one looked only at these factors, this planet might not seem particularly valuable.
This planet was also one of the oldest in the Milky Way Galaxy. More than 25,000 years ago, in ancient times, it had been called Pesegam by the Xim Empire. Incidentally, it was the Hutt Empire that destroyed the Xim Empire. It was through that epic war that the Hutts established their current status in the Milky Way Galaxy.
Now, on Galactic Republic star charts, this planet was called Moraband. But to the Sith Lords, to the Dark Side, this place had only one eternal name—
Korriban!
One of the birthplaces of the Dark Side in the Milky Way Galaxy! The origin of the Sith Order!
More than 30,000 years ago, Planet Korriban had been occupied by a surviving Killik tribe. But these Killiks had long since lost the glory they had enjoyed over 35,000 years ago, and they were quickly driven away by the native inhabitants.
Afterward, Planet Korriban was successively occupied by the Rakatan Infinite Empire, and then by the Xim Empire.
After the Xim Empire was destroyed by the Hutts, Planet Korriban went through more than ten
