Just as Peter-Anderson closed his eyes and waited for death, there was suddenly a wet splat, and he felt countless streams of scorching, foul-smelling liquid drench him from head to toe!
He opened his eyes blankly and saw that the Semirian before him had lost his entire upper body. Only a charred lump of flesh and melted armor remained of its lower half.

After taking more than a dozen blaster bolts, the Semirian finally collapsed and did not rise again.
When they counted their numbers again, there had been more than thirty people aboard their transport just moments ago. Now, only seven remained... Just three Semirians had come at them. Though they had the advantage of a surprise attack, they had still killed two-thirds of their companions!
These are the enemies we're facing?
Peter-Anderson wiped at the foul liquid coating his face, a mixture of blood and viscera, then suddenly could not hold
