Semirres Planet, outer orbit, Galactic Republic fleet flagship.
"General Davis, the radar department just sent word. Our hyperspace sensors have detected something." The adjutant approached the Fleet's Highest Commander, General Davis.
"It should be Separatist reinforcements. We're deep behind enemy lines now, so that's no surprise." General Davis spoke blandly. "Trench's offensive is fierce right now. I have to admit, his rigorous deployment alone shows that even I have much to learn from him when it comes to fleet command. But unfortunately... this time, he must swallow the bitter fruit of defeat."
"Seventh formation, fall back immediately! Draw the Separatist warships' fire! Probe whether their formation can be disrupted! Eleventh formation, immediately make a wide flanking maneuver toward the planet's north pole!" General Davis did not take the adjutant's report to heart and immediately threw himself back into commanding the fleet.
Seeing General Davis's attitude, the adjutant felt somewhat uneasy. But duty compelled him to continue. "General, this situation is rather strange. Judging from the hyperspace fluctuations, what's approaching is at least battlecruiser-class. It shouldn't be a transport convoy. However, their hyperspace exit point is outside Planet Seven in the Semirres system. In other words, they're at the outermost edge of this system. General, while this may not seem serious, I believe the Separatists must have some scheme behind this!"
"The edge of the system? Then there's even less need to concern ourselves with it. At sublight speed, flying from Planet Seven all the way here to Semirres Planet would take nearly a day. With that much time, we'll be able to see whatever they're up to clearly enough." General Davis waved a hand.
But then he glanced back at the adjutant, whose forehead was practically breaking into a cold sweat. Not wanting to make things too difficult for him,
