The Jedi Order's Schism
Yes. The Jedi Order had changed.
Many Jedi Knights had begun abandoning the principles they once upheld for all kinds of reasons. Some had lost family and friends in the war; some had witnessed its brutality; others had lost themselves amid repeated defeats.
These Jedi Knights began to believe that their previous setbacks on the battlefield had all been caused by their excessive mercy. Since their enemies used every cruel method imaginable against them, then they too had to use every cruel method imaginable against their enemies—be even crueler than them!
There were now only two words in their hearts—revenge and victory.
For revenge, they would do anything! For victory, they would stop at nothing!
In the end, everything came down to one phrase—blood for blood!
They wanted revenge for their countless fallen comrades! Blood for blood!
And because of that phrase, this group of Jedi Knights came to be known as the Blood Knights, and they themselves seemed not to object to the name.
There were not many Blood Knights within the Jedi Order at present, but many of them were Jedi Knights fighting on the front lines. Compared to those stationed at the Jedi Temple, they were more inclined toward combat. Many Jedi Knights, however, were not skilled at fighting; they were more involved in research and academic work.
The Blood Knights' contempt for ordinary Jedi Knights had gradually become undisguised. They believed that the war had reached this point because of the Jedi Order's former conservatism, which had led to countless sacrifices and deaths. Now, they intended to set things right.
This division had even affected the leader of the Jedi Order, Master Yoda.
