I changed it in the previous chapter. Sure enough, calling the protagonist's sword Soul Stealer sounded cooler. Besides, the death flags were already piled sky-high anyway.

The Valley of the Dark Lords remained filled with chilling winds and oppressive gloom. Sandstorms mixed with yellow dust howled endlessly around the valley's outskirts, carrying wails like the cries of ghosts.

Darth Malthael held Soul Reaver upside down as he walked forward step by step. The black blade dragged along the ground, its plasma's extreme heat melting the sand and soil directly into a burning trail of lava.

Soul Reaver itself was a double-bladed Lightsaber, though its hilt was longer than that of an ordinary double-bladed Lightsaber and could not be separated into two halves.

Black-bladed Lightsabers were not unheard of. Mand'alor Death Watch's Darksaber, for instance, was also a highly distinctive black Lightsaber. Yet although the Darksaber looked unique, it was still a Lightsaber. Its functions did not differ greatly from ordinary Lightsabers; its electromagnetic containment field had merely been adjusted during construction, giving its blade a flattened shape.

Rather than a Lightsaber, it was more like a bridge through which Darth Malthael could use the Death Force to connect with the world of the Force. As for what might happen when one directly connected to the world of the Force, even Darth Malthael himself could not fully understand it. He could only explore it bit by bit.

The only certainty was that the world of the Force contained endless possibilities.

Darth Malthael had begun researching this long ago. The Muur Talisman, Kresh's Gauntlet, even the Dark Reaper and the Star Forge destroyed during the Sith Wars four thousand years ago—these former artifacts all shared one thing in common: they could unleash power vastly exceeding their size
