In fact, both the Galactic Republic and Kuat Drive Yards placed the defense of Quat Planet above all else. A powerful fleet was permanently stationed within the Quat system, with strict regulations forbidding it from being deployed without authorization under any circumstances.
Although this fleet defending the Quat system had no particularly cutting-edge warships, it included many colossal vessels such as Commander-class, Governor-class, and Prosecutor-class ships. The 8,000-meter Commander-class, 4,000-meter Governor-class, and 2,500-meter Prosecutor-class vessels were all outdated warships from a previous era, but for defending a star system, they remained extremely reliable.
There were more than ten such massive warships in the Quat system!
According to the plans and simulations of the Galactic Republic Supreme Strategic Command, Quat Planet's defenses were sufficient to confront 300 kilometer-class capital ships head-on even without outside support!
Moreover, Quat Planet had a population of only 3.6 billion because it had relocated many of its midstream and downstream industries to other star systems. Doing so bound Kuat even more tightly to the Galactic Republic, making it almost impossible for them to become independent from it. At the same time, it also made Quat Planet much easier to defend.
Rendili Planet was also an industrial center, yet it had a population of 600 billion. The reason was simply that its development direction was different. Rendili Planet possessed an almost complete industrial and processing system. It only needed to import raw materials and supplies from outside, making it relatively independent.
Rendili had dared to take that final step toward rebellion against the Galactic Republic partly because of its development strategy. If Kuat Drive Yards severed ties with the Galactic Republic,
