Open and Covert Struggles
"I have to say, your hand was both precise and swift... Governor Tarkin," Dunn Vesex said coldly. "Faida Planet was attacked, and your fleet arrived right afterward. Anyone who didn't know better might think the Geth were feeding you information!"
"Chancellor Palpatine ordered me to reinforce the fight against the Geth in the Northern Territory. I had no choice but to give it my all," Tarkin replied with a smile that did not reach his eyes. "Besides, I received reliable intelligence that the Geth had mastered an entirely new method of hyperspace travel. Once Faida Planet fell, they could strike directly at your home territory... By then, you wouldn't look so good before Chancellor Palpatine..."
"So you believe our Ninth Army cannot withstand a Geth invasion?" Dunn Vesex shot back.
"Not at all. I simply think you have yet to realize the danger you are in," Wilhuff Tarkin said. "Besides, isn't your Ninth Army's main fleet still fighting the Separatists, not yet recalled?"
"I cleared out the Separatist forces within the Ninth Army's jurisdiction long ago. I have no need for concern from a loser. I truly fear that one day, you'll even lose the Fourth Army, then run off to take command of the First Army again! Hehehehe..." Dunn Vesex sneered.
"You should worry more about Kuat. Perhaps they will soon learn what true separatism means. Don't drag your little lover down with you..." Tarkin said pointedly.
"Hmph!" At the mention of his girlfriend, Lila Blythex, Dunn Vesex's expression darkened. "This is the Galactic Republic's foremost priority right now. Don't go spreading your hearsay intelligence everywhere! Otherwise, the Intelligence Department will be the ones who look bad."
"Then in that case, let me lend you a hand on Faida Planet. No need to thank me,"
