"It... it..." The radar operator stared at the screen, dumbfounded.
As the fighter rapidly approached, the warship's most advanced Anti-Stealth radar had finally detected it. This advanced Anti-Stealth radar could even see through optical camouflage and directly render the fighter's physical form.
Thus, the blood-red, dagger-shaped body of the Red Comet appeared on the screen.
Yet what stunned everyone was that the fighter was merely circling their warship, never more than two kilometers away.
And this blood-red fighter was actually slowing down! Even under the dense anti-air fire of the Knight-class Star Destroyer, it was still able to decelerate! It continued evading, not a single Turbolaser beam hitting it!
"What the hell is it trying to do?! Shoot it down, now!" the battle group Commander roared.
But it was useless. The fighter completely ignored the Knight-class Star Destroyer's anti-air fire, circling the warship as though taking a leisurely stroll.
The Knight-class Star Destroyer's standard armament consisted of sixty XX-9 heavy Turbolaser cannons for long-range anti-ship combat, which could also reduce their power and increase their firing rate to attack fighters; sixty NK-7 ion cannons for disabling enemy ship electronics at close range; and forty point-defense turrets.
Yet this firepower arrangement could do nothing against a single fighter!
Moreover, the fighter was flying too close, so the other nearby warships did not dare fire in support—because they would almost certainly hit this warship instead.
This Knight-class Star Destroyer was the flagship of their battle group!
Just as the Knight-class Star Destroyer fired desperately, the ship suddenly shuddered violently. Then, one of the engines at its stern abruptly spewed a massive burst of flame!
BOOM!!! A deafening explosion shook the entire warship, and the people on the bridge immediately sensed that something was wrong.
