B.O.W. Threat

It was no wonder Cassio Tagge scoffed at the T-Virus, which had once appeared on the battlefield and posed an enormous threat to the Republic army.

Ever since the T-Virus had appeared on the battlefield, the Galactic Republic had attached great importance to it. They had brought back a large number of samples from the battlefield for research and obtained extensive data.

It should be noted that although the Galactic Republic had acquired T-Virus samples, that did not mean they could reproduce the T-Virus themselves. To fully replicate it, they needed the original T-Virus strain after purification and extraction. Otherwise, the mutated zombies would contain nothing more than fragments of the T-Virus's genetic code.

Even so, this had not stopped the Galactic Republic from mastering most of the T-Virus's properties through extensive experimentation. They now knew that the T-Virus could survive in the air for less than five minutes and therefore could not be transmitted through the air. They also knew that although the T-Virus could survive in water, it could not infect through water. Thus, unless animals directly consumed food contaminated with the T-Virus, aquatic creatures were rarely infected.

At the same time, the most potent vectors for T-Virus transmission were bodily fluids, such as saliva and blood, even including gastric fluid. Those infected through such vectors could mutate within mere minutes.

Experiments also led Republic biologists to discover that the zombies created by T-Virus mutations were merely byproducts, utterly incapable of forming any threatening combat power. The T-Virus's primary purpose was to create biological weapons through mutation.

But those scientists also stated that biological weapons mutated from the T-Virus could not withstand fire from the DC-15S blaster rifles equipped by active soldiers. Furthermore, according to current experiments, even mutations under extreme conditions could not pose a
