"What? Lady Padmé is giving birth?!" Dormé gasped and hurriedly rushed into the manor.
"Oh, this truly is such a surprise, such a surprise." C-3PO waddled after her.
The astromech droid R2-D2 beeped and booped as it entered with them. Without saying a word, it accelerated and overtook C-3PO. Then, outside Padmé Amidala's bedroom, R2-D2 abruptly stopped and blocked the doorway. C-3PO crashed into R2 with a clang and could not get in.
"Please make way, thank you, R2," C-3PO said.
However, R2-D2 ignored him completely, continuing to block the door while a series of beeps came from its vocal module as it spoke in droid language.
"Oh, all right. I understand that it may not be appropriate for us to go inside, but I merely wished to express my concern for our mistress," C-3PO said.
Beep beep beep... R2-D2 said something else.
"All right, I understand. Then we shall stand guard outside the door." C-3PO moved two steps to the side and stood watch at the entrance.
Yet R2-D2 unhesitatingly went straight into the room...
"R2! You cannot go in! We should be guarding the door!" C-3PO hurriedly said.
But R2-D2 paid it no heed and went directly to Padmé's bedside.
"Oh, very well. At least it is perfectly acceptable for me to guard the door on my own." C-3PO said awkwardly, taking another two steps back to continue his watch.
Three medical care droids, deliberately designed with soft feminine forms, spoke in gentle electronic voices as they each performed their duties and delivered the still-unconscious Padmé Amidala's children.
