The two fleets that had been dispatched sent back a message the next day, saying they had discovered what appeared to be enemy ships. But after that, they vanished without a trace, completely ceasing all response. This outcome made the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium even more uneasy.
Over the past few days, Great Xirithut had asked about the two fleets nearly every hour. Yet every answer he received was the same—no news.
It had now been ten days since the Ninth Fleet lost contact and was destroyed. During that time, nearly every soldier in the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium had been on the verge of a mental breakdown.
They had gone from initial tension to soaring morale, then to wild battle cries and fierce combat. After that came the gradual silence of endless waiting, followed by nervous unease. Now, they were filled with terror.
They no longer knew how much longer they would have to wait, nor did they know what they were about to face. They only knew they had suffered an invasion—and a terrifying one at that.
Rumors of the God of Decay began spreading from the upper ranks of the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium. More and more people learned of its existence, and more and more came to understand that the God of Decay had wiped out three Ssi-ruuvi fleets in succession! Not one person from those three fleets had returned to report what happened!
Fear of the apocalypse began to spread through the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium, growing ever more intense. Nearly everyone began praying to the Heavenly Saint at Homeworld, hoping divine power could help them resist the God of Decay's attack.
Yet none of it did any good.
Nothing happened, yet it seemed as though so much had happened...
