In fact, the Dyson Ring had not begun operating today. Today merely marked the completion of its fully closed loop.
Construction of the Vaxian Dyson Ring had been divided into eight phases, each containing more than 7,000 sections. Once each phase was completed, its energy extraction apparatus would immediately begin operating, bringing more energy to Vaxian Planet and sustaining additional industrial facilities.
The energy extraction apparatuses of those eight phases were the eight Super Laser Weapon emitters on the Dyson Ring.
Once the first phase began extracting energy, that unimaginably vast supply of power was put to use elsewhere—Vex Planet.
Vex Planet was an uninhabited world, unsuitable for life. The reason was simple: the astronomical environment surrounding this star system was extremely harsh.
Vex System contained only the solitary Vex Planet. The other planets had either been stripped away by nearby celestial bodies or shattered into countless fragments through collisions, eventually forming an asteroid belt at the edge of the system. Even that asteroid belt would not last long; it was expected to be completely drawn in by the surrounding bodies within tens of thousands of years.
Nearby celestial bodies?
Vex System lay on the edge of a nebula known as the Mensua Nebula. This nebula could be considered one of the most terrifying places in the Modell Sector. At its core was a massive star cluster composed of countless blue giants and black holes, generating incomparably powerful cosmic radiation. Ordinary spacecraft would be destroyed by radiation merely by approaching it.
There were almost no fully formed planetary systems within the nebula, or perhaps hardly any planets at all. Most had been torn away and absorbed by those immensely massive blue giants and black holes.
Aside from the enormous star cluster at the nebula's center, its surroundings were filled with
