Godslaying Battle (2)
Milky Way Galaxy, Unknown Regions, unknown coordinates, Mugal-Falo Planet.
The brown planet and black Star Ring already told the whole story. The Mongar-Mongar sludge covering the entire planet, along with the tens of thousands of warships numerous enough to form a Star Ring, all proved that the long-circulating legend was true.
The one entrenched here, using endless psychic power to manipulate countless sludges and clones as though pulling puppet strings, destroying and assimilating innumerable civilizations... the God of Decay.
And this planet was the God of Decay's throne! The Rotten Star Ring was the sharp divine sword resting beside that throne!
The black Star Ring began to writhe. But this was not literal writhing—it was the disturbance caused by countless ships and warships beginning to turn.
That was right, the Rotten Star Ring! A Star Ring made up of vast numbers of warships.
Some of those warships were more than ten thousand years old, while even the newer ones had existed for centuries or millennia. Over the long years, exposed to cosmic radiation and the ever-spreading Mongar-Mongar spores, and lacking effective maintenance, most of their hull paint had turned black.
Since the warships were usually of no use, Mongar-Mongar had casually dumped them into low earth orbit. As Mongar-Mongar destroyed more and more civilizations, it brought over every spacecraft from those civilizations and threw them all together.
Mongar-Mongar even kept some shipyards and factories from destroyed civilizations running for a while, continuously building warships until the factories decayed and collapsed.
Inside those ships, crew members eroded and controlled by Mongar-Mongar operated and maintained the vessels they had worked aboard while alive. Mongar-Mongar devoured their consciousnesses, then left them inside their gradually rotting shells, making them work forever and maintain the ships at the most basic level—at least
