A somewhat outdated Neimoidian Scyk-class shuttle flew into a valley, descended, and skimmed low between the jagged rocks before accurately entering a large cave.
Guided in, the shuttle landed within a vast artificially excavated space inside the cave. The hatch opened, and Jango Fett and Boba Fett stepped out in Mandalorian armor.
Dozens of warriors clad in dark blue armor immediately approached and surrounded them.
Most of these warriors were women. Though their armor followed the standard Mandalorian design, its lines were much softer, and the jetpacks on their backs appeared more powerful. On the battlefield, they likely specialized in mobility and agility.
They were warriors of the Night Owls, an elite guard unit Bo-Katan Kryze had formed by further selecting the best from Death Watch. In fact, the Night Owls had originally been established by Pre Vizsla in an effort to win over Bo-Katan Kryze. Their average quality thus surpassed that of Death Watch, but their numbers were too few for them to truly confront Death Watch head-on.
Dozens of blaster rifles were trained on them. More than ten automated turrets had been installed along the surrounding rock walls, and farther away, a glint flashed from sniper scopes in the shadows. Such a formation made the young Boba Fett nervous. His body stiffened, and his fingers instinctively wanted to move toward his waist, where his pistol had been holstered.
But Boba Fett grasped only air, because they had already removed all their weapons and equipment before stepping off the ship.
Jango Fett had seen plenty in his time. He raised both hands and said calmly, "I am Jango Fett, leader of the True Mandalorians and Commander of the Mandalorian Restoration Army. I have come to request an audience with Miss Bo-Katan Kryze."
Calling Bo-Katan Kryze "Miss" carried considerable meaning.
