"Zann Consortium?" Kira walked to one side, took a glass of wine from a slave attendant, and lightly sipped it. "They've been wholeheartedly running their scrap starship recycling business, and it's all in the Outer Rim Territories. What does that have to do with us?"
"That's only their public business. In reality, the Zann Consortium has been extremely active in the underworld over the past few years. You simply haven't been involved in that side of the business." Dryden Vos's tone gradually darkened. "Their reach has been getting longer and longer these past few years. Spice, weapons, smuggling—they're involved in all kinds of things."
"But they're in the Outer Rim Territories. How are they supposed to ally with us?" Kira frowned.
"That's precisely why they need our business network in the Inner Rim and the Core Worlds." Dryden Vos said, "It's said that Hutt Jabba and Black Sun have already formed alliances with them. It seems they're planning something big."
"What should we do, then? Refuse them?" Kira asked. She had never expected Dryden Vos to come to her with something that concerned the future of the entire syndicate.
Although she had become a captain in Crimson Dawn, there were still at least a dozen people above her in rank—major figures who each controlled business across an entire sector.
"You'll go speak with the Zann Consortium first and sound them out. Only then can I make a decision," Dryden Vos said flatly.
Kira's delicate brows drew tightly together. It looked like he intended to use her to test the waters. If negotiations fell apart, it would not be Dryden Vos who died.
As if seeing through her concerns, Dryden Vos said, "You don't need to worry. As long as you don't openly reject them, they won't do anything to you.
