Hari Seldon Reform (Part 2)
At the same time, to ensure Neutron Steel retained its value, Hari Seldon would establish a dedicated department to symbolically store and maintain it.
The currency management department would establish a semi-public storage site in the Mensua Nebula, where one billion tons of Neutron Steel would be kept specifically to back the new currency. Individuals and third-party institutions that passed review and possessed sufficient qualifications could be invited to visit and verify the Neutron Steel reserves.
In short, with the Kingdom of Dawn military's guarantee, as long as its Neutron Steel reserves were sufficient, the Kingdom of Dawn could issue currency in virtually unlimited quantities.
Furthermore, the currency management department would disclose part of Neutron Steel's molecular structure, as well as its precise density, ensuring that its authenticity could be determined through the simplest method of weighing. At the same time, it would reveal some of Neutron Steel's physical properties—for instance, it would not deform even after prolonged exposure to temperatures of 100,000°C, nor would it react with strong acids.
This series of relatively simple tests also offered an extremely intuitive way to determine authenticity. After all, whether what you produced was Neutron Steel or not, if you could truly make it display those physical properties, then you were impressive—you had successfully counterfeited the currency. As for the cost, though, that was another matter entirely.
The currency management department also issued Neutron Steel ingots weighing 0.5 kilograms, 1 kilogram, 5 kilograms, and 10 kilograms. Etched onto the ingots were the publicly disclosed portion of Neutron Steel's molecular structure, the Kingdom of Dawn's national emblem, and a unique anti-counterfeiting code. Every Neutron Steel ingot had its own independent code.
Leaving everything else aside, simply being able to etch such patterns onto Neutron Steel was already an
