2504, Tagge Space
Having watched the entire destruction of Geonosis through a holographic projection, Palpatine, Emperor of the Galactic Empire, was greatly pleased. He was happy not only because Geonosis's destruction gave him unprecedented pleasure. The final extinction of the Geonosians, whose population had once reached tens of billions, allowed him to hear the wails of the Dark Side Force and feel the increasingly powerful Force Storm. He felt as though his entire being was about to ascend.
At the same time, these spherical warships that Orman-Tagge called Torpedo Spheres, because they resembled miniature Death Stars, also somewhat soothed his fury over the suspension of the Death Star project.
In his delight, Palpatine directly ordered the creation of the position of Sector Governor in Tagge Space. He then offered the post to Orman-Tagge, telling him that aside from direct descendants of the Tagge family, he could appoint anyone he wanted.
The basic meaning was that this territory was his reward, but it could not openly become a hereditary fiefdom. What he did with it was up to him.
Tagge Space was actually a sphere of influence established by Tagge Company during its expansion through acquisitions, coercive takeovers, and other means. Unlike Corellia Engineering Company's Corellian Corridor, Tagge Space was extremely scattered, with one piece here and another there, making it difficult to integrate. Thus, it was merely a sphere of influence and could not truly be called a geographic region.
At its root, this was because the Tagge family's rise had been extraordinarily rapid, but it had only been two hundred years. By then, the old aristocratic houses of the Core Worlds had long divided up their respective territories.
