2525, First Battle of Boonta (Part 2)
At this moment, the Galactic Empire's fleet was already somewhat at a loss.
Whether the powerful high-energy directional EMP cannons on both sides of the Destruction battleship could cover an extremely wide area had just been proven by that attack. Even Imperial-class Star Destroyers with their electromagnetic shielding activated could not completely block the effects of EMP.
More fatally, they could not raise their electromagnetic shielding to maximum power!
Because if they did, they would once again come under attack from those massive cruise missiles capable of penetrating shields. Those large cruise missiles were immensely powerful; without shields to block them, they could directly cripple their warships.
Caught in such a dilemma, the warships of the Twelfth Army fleet began to hesitate. Some wanted to risk making a wide flanking maneuver around the Destruction battleship and attack the fifteen unfamiliar warships identified in intercepted communications as "Typhoon-class battlecruisers." Others wanted to charge forward and fight the Destruction to the death. But more warships slowed down and chose to wait and see.
Adar Talon was an experienced commander who had fought his way up from the front lines. He was a truly capable general, not one of those useless aristocrats and scions of powerful families who had risen through connections. Yet even he was somewhat helpless in this situation. Unless he made up his mind to force an attack at the risk of losing a large number of warships, he truly could not think of any good way to break the deadlock.
His deployment had already been excellent, but what he faced was still a technological gap. Superior technology, combined with the right people, had left the Galactic Empire's fleet at a loss.
However, he still had one card left to play!
