The next day, Tagge Company's highest council convened as scheduled.
As the company's highest-ranking director, Tagge family patriarch Orman Tagge, was not in attendance, according to the rules, no decisions requiring the highest director's approval would be made on the spot. Instead, the meeting memorandum would be copied to him, after which the highest director would make a decision based on its contents or convene another council meeting.
Even so, this highest council meeting of Tagge Company was anything but ordinary. This was an emergency meeting called by Felix Tagge, who could currently be considered the number two figure in Tagge Company, using his own authority.
Other than Orman Tagge, who was unable to attend because he was currently traveling along the long hyperspace route from Scarif back to Tepasi, every other senior executive of the company was present without exception.
They included Silas Tagge, the third son of the Tagge family's direct line and head of research; Urrrk Tagge, the fourth son of the direct line and a colonel in the Galactic Empire Navy; as well as Brace Tagge-Falken and Lena Tagge-Falken of the family's collateral branch, who oversaw personnel affairs.
Chairing the meeting was Felix Tagge, currently the number two figure in Tagge Company, head of finance, and concurrently the Tagge Sector Governor.
As for Domina Tagge, the fifth daughter of the family's direct line, she was too young to be involved in company operations for the time being and therefore did not attend.
Yet when the meeting began, Felix Tagge, who was supposed to preside over it, failed to arrive for a long time. Everyone waited anxiously. Since the main person involved was absent, Silas Tagge did not immediately lose his temper. He merely sat in his seat, staring coldly at the podium.
