Sure enough, those monsters were crawling out of the huge hole blasted into the hypermatter reactor. Yet the damaged reactor still contained unimaginably high temperatures—instrument readings showed at least tens of thousands of degrees! Combined with the horrifying radiation, even in CMC-300 powered armor, they did not dare approach it. Yet these Kilik Creatures had been hiding directly inside.
"These monsters... they may even be absorbing energy from the reactor..." an engineer said grimly.
"Forget that! Kill every last one of these monsters! Open fire!" Ye Chuan roared.
He had already received a reply from General Tann. Reinforcements were on the way. They needed to find a suitable position to hold and kill all these monsters.
Ye Chuan immediately directed the squad to retreat slowly. He remembered that, on their way to the reactor, they had passed through a relatively narrow section of corridor. They could use that area as a defensive position.
Captain Ye! We're under attack! There are monsters here! Second Squad's alarmed cries came through the comms. They were searching another section of the wreckage.
"Withdraw from the wreckage immediately! Use aerial fire support to eliminate them!" Ye Chuan decisively ordered.
The other two squads were in much better shape. They had entered directly through breaks in the wreckage, so getting in and out should not have been difficult. As long as they could withdraw, their own air force and warships should be able to destroy the monsters easily.
