Rufon Digorinus, Imperial Marshal.

Unlike the thousand peaceful years before, when monopolies, commerce, colonization, and capital had been the true darlings of the Galactic Republic, the military? It had been a place even dogs wouldn't want to enter.
Now, as war became the main theme of the Milky Way Galaxy, the military's status continued to rise. Expanding their influence within it thus became the first choice of every major noble house.
Yet expanding one's influence in the military was easier said than done.
Since the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic Army had been personally brought into being by Chancellor Sheev Palpatine through the Military Creation Act. When the Grand Army of the Republic was established, only a handful of corporations, such as the InterGalactic Banking Clan and Kuat Drive Yards, received contracts and equipment orders. The vast majority of traditional noble houses had been shut out.
Even so, these families still tried to infiltrate the military by sending their children to military academies, arranging marriages with officers, or secretly funding frontline commanders.
It was under such circumstances that Rufon Digorinus had been sent into the military by his family.
Compared with many other mediocre, useless scions of noble houses, Rufon Digorinus possessed both outstanding character and talent. He rose through the ranks all the way to Admiral of the Navy and was given the chance to independently command a fleet.
However, Rufon Digorinus's heart was
