In the first year of the Empire, at 4:00 p.m. on June 5, Eriadu, Fourth Empire "Death Star Laboratory."
This was a research space station established specifically to study the Death Star. Beside the station, they had even constructed a 1:100 scale model of the Death Star—a spherical space station 1,200 meters in diameter.
Countless combat records gathered from the front lines were compiled and analyzed here, then immediately installed into the model for simulation and analysis.
Moreover, part of the Death Star's superlaser technology had actually originated from the "Extractor" project, and the Fourth Empire's research teams naturally possessed that project's original data as well.
Thus, this miniature Death Star model was now 85% complete: one-third based on intelligence, one-third on deductions, and one-third on guesswork. It could basically simulate the Death Star's operations.
Yet many parts remained unknown—the final 15% simply could not be completed.
The ridiculous part was that this missing 15% was not impossible to reproduce because the technology was too advanced. On the contrary, it was because the technology was too primitive.
That was right: it was the section where the Tarkin's space station was integrated into the Death Star's main structure.
It was like a top Formula One team in the twenty-first century trying to reverse-engineer a go-kart. Even without the actual vehicle, given enough data, they could naturally analyze all its principles quickly. But the problem was...
What if the go-kart had been repaired by an Indian mechanic?
They had slapped on a whole mess of patches, and somehow it had miraculously started running...
So before getting hold of the actual vehicle, there was no way to know what absurd patches the mechanic had applied to make it run despite bugs piled on top of bugs.
Take the current Death Star, for example.
