An Acclamator-class assault ship landed directly in the eastern outskirts of Crystal City, the capital of Christophsis. Eight thousand Clone Troopers rapidly poured out through its enormous sixty-meter-wide hatch, led by TX-130 Saber hover tanks, and launched an assault on the droid army besieging Senator Bail Organa.

The five hundred Clone Troopers Senator Bail Organa had brought with him had held out desperately from advantageous terrain for an entire week. Now, only a little over a hundred remained. Under the soldiers' protection, Bail Organa looked somewhat dispirited, but he was at least safe.

After linking up with Senator Bail Organa, the Clone Troopers began deploying more armored units from the Acclamator-class assault ship.

Because Christophsis had organized a force of Rebel Alliance fighters—though they were mostly irregulars who could barely fire a gun—they could still provide some firepower. As such, this wave of reinforcements had brought more armored units.

This Acclamator-class carried seventy AT-TE walkers and ten AZ-7 self-propelled artillery pieces. The Clone Army immediately deployed the AZ-7s on high ground and began bombarding the Confederacy of Independent Systems droid army in the distance.

Volm Lotham had been eager to capture Crystal City as quickly as possible. Thus, he had merely encircled Bail Organa's forces without attacking, refusing to chew through that hard bone while committing his main strength to the assault on Crystal City.

But he had underestimated both the Christophsians' determination to defend their capital and the sheer scale of Crystal City. This colossal metropolis, home to eight hundred million people, was filled everywhere with crystal buildings that were exceptionally hard. Christophsian resistance fighters hid in every corner and took potshots, while the droids simply did not know how to take cover!
