When Lieutenant Li Yifei opened his eyes in the sleeping pod, there were not many people left in the enormous chamber. He had been among the later ones; everyone else had completed the procedure and gone Homeworld.

He shook his head again, reviewing the small fragment of new memories in his mind. Then he got dressed and walked out.

According to the terms of the Rebirth Plan, after completing the rebirth procedure, he would receive three days of leave to spend with his family and could not immediately return to the barracks. So Li Yifei took a public shuttle back to Dawn Star Planet, then a hovercar home to Silver Ash City.
