Hunting the Malevolence (7)

The Malevolence was bombed one second before it could fire its directed energy pulse. The energy gathered within the massive emitter instantly surged back through the energy conduits, triggering explosions and fires throughout the ship.

Even with the naked eye, it was clear that the entire warship was ablaze. Because of the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the vessel, every flame jetted outward.

The instant the explosion erupted, the droids inside the Fang battleship suffered devastating losses. The damage control units in particular had more than half their numbers destroyed at once. Of the 25,350 droids operating the entire ship, over 6,000 were destroyed in this blast alone. The remaining droids could not even maintain the warship's normal navigation.

"Move! Put out the fires! Put out the fires! Begin the hyperspace jump immediately! Get us out of here!" General Grievous flew into a rage on the bridge.

"We need to recalculate the hyperspace parameters, sir. This may take—"

"Idiot!" General Grievous slapped the B-1 droid's head clean off. A replacement droid immediately stepped forward, took its seat, and continued the calculations.

"Deploy the Marines throughout the ship to fight the fires! Get the damage under control as quickly as possible!" General Grievous said coldly. "Launch every fighter we can still use! Take down those Jedi bombers!"

"I've severely damaged that super warship! It can't use that super EMP anymore!" Anakin shouted over the comms.
