Orbital Bombardment!

Aereen Planet had not been equipped with an expensive Planetary Shield. After taking several consecutive high-powered Turbolaser hits from the Hunter Class, huge mushroom clouds rose across the surface. The terrifying blasts spread in every direction, destroying several mines and Energy Centers.

Vulture droid fighters took off like mad to intercept them, but the V-19 Torrent light fighters quickly crushed their counterattack. More than a hundred Vulture fighters were destroyed.

After firing continuously, Aereen Planet's orbital supercannon was finally locked onto by the Hunter Class Battlecruiser. After several accurate strikes, the massive cannon was blown into a heap of wreckage.

The Hunter Class Battlecruiser then charged straight into the planet's atmosphere. Under fighter cover, LAAT/I assault transports took off one after another. After fiercely bombing ground targets, they began landing with Clone Troopers packed inside.

After entering the atmosphere, Aereen Planet's ground fire became even more frenzied. Virtually every weapon capable of firing shot into the sky, while every ship and fighter capable of taking off launched into the air to attack the warship from all sides.

This put the Hunter Class Battlecruiser under tremendous pressure. After deploying its 4,000 Marines, the warship began climbing in altitude and provided fire support from 50,000 meters above the ground.

Aereen Planet was uninhabitable for life. Most of those on its surface were slaves and robotic laborers. Aside from them, roughly 20,000 B-1 battle droids and 1,500 Fourth Civilization Army soldiers defended the planet.
