In the Battle of Kilin Wasteland, the Fourth Civilization committed 15,000 army soldiers and more than 15,000 combat droids to launch a determined assault on the Galactic Republic's defensive lines.
The Republic clone army here consisted of the 118th Assault Regiment, totaling 5,000 men, along with roughly 3,000 local security troops from Terminus Planet.
Those local security troops naturally collapsed at the first touch, but the Clone Army's resistance was exceptionally tenacious. They deployed their defenses in an orderly fashion and halted the Fourth Civilization Army's advance across most positions.
The Republic clone army possessed formidable combat quality. Even under the relentless bombardment of Siege Tanks, they remained calm and launched steady counterattacks from their prearranged positions.
With the fire support of large numbers of AT-TE walkers, AT-XT walkers, and AV-7 self-propelled artillery, the Republic's positions were virtually impregnable.
Moreover, as always, the Republic held an absolute numerical advantage in fighters on the battlefield. Vulture droid fighters could only harass the Republic's fighter formations, and only Wraith fighters could still pose a lethal threat to Republic fighters.
However, Wraith fighters were few in number, and their cloaking devices had limited duration, leaving them little time to fight in the air. Compared to the Galactic Republic, they lacked sufficient pilots and fighters for rotation.
This was also the greatest difficulty facing the Fourth Civilization Army. They had no choice but to launch attacks when the Wraith fighters took off, and when the Wraith fighters withdrew, they could only halt their offensive and organize defenses on the spot.
The Clone Army seized this opportunity with great acuity. The moment the Wraith fighters retreated, they immediately launched counterattacks.
LAAT/I assault transports rained bombs down upon the Fourth Civilization Army, while V-19 Torrent light fighters repeatedly dove to strafe them.
