A spy from the Highland Liberation Organization? Master Windu was shocked. Why would these people think that?
He was certain that no one here should recognize him. After all, he had left Haruun Kal as a child, and when he came here thirty-five years ago, it had been as a special envoy. Very few people had ever seen him.
"Kill him!!" The men roared as they fired wildly.
Master Windu did not wish to create needless bloodshed. He swiftly dodged the blaster bolts while running toward an alley behind him.
Yet things only became stranger. Not long after Master Windu shook those people off, another group spotted him. They too roared and attacked him!
Pew pew pew! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Darth Malthael was drawn by the unrest in the city. He casually stopped a passenger vehicle and headed in that direction.
From the smuggling ring he had bought off, he learned that someone had apparently seen the leader of the Highland Liberation Organization. That man had led the Korunnai in attacking their stronghold and massacring their people.
According to their descriptions, the leader was bald, dark-skinned, clean-shaven, with deep-set brow ridges. It was unmistakably Mace Windu!
But Darth Malthael knew that the Highland Liberation Organization consisted of Carl Vasto and Depa Barris. No matter how one looked at it, neither had anything to do with Master Windu. Nor could they possibly resort to such tedious, useless, and despicable tactics as framing someone.
Then why could these people describe Master Windu's appearance so accurately?
