Energy vs. Kinetic
Rory Siwang charged up to an office. Its door was already covered in dents and scars, yet he was still furious. He swung the massive mechanical pincer on his left arm at the metal door, hammering it with a deafening clang, clang, clang and adding countless fresh marks to its surface.
Judging by how familiar he was with the routine, this clearly was not his first time.
A shrill alarm sounded from the mechanical door before it slid open.
Rory Siwang rushed inside and bellowed at the person in the office, "Zhang Jiarui! Explain yourself, damn it! What the hell are you up to?!"
Standing inside was a powerfully built man, at least 185 centimeters tall. He wore a black tank top, his steel-like muscles seemingly ready to burst through the fabric. His close-cropped hair stood up like steel needles, and the faint stubble along his jaw gave him an even more rugged air.
A man like that would have looked perfectly at home in a barracks or a gym.
Yet this hulking brute stood before several blackboards and holographic displays, all of them crammed with dense equations and cross-sectional diagrams of mechanical parts whose functions were impossible to decipher.
Even more unacceptable was the pair of glasses perched on his face, utterly at odds with his classic inverted-triangle build...
When Rory Siwang burst in, the burly man named Zhang Jiarui took off his glasses and revealed a ferocious, provocative grin. "What did I do? Simple. I completed the Thor Mech prototype. Five minutes ago, I submitted it to the newly arrived Engineering Consultant for approval and finalization. Hahahahaha! I've said it all along—only Energy Weapons represent the trend of modern weapon development! Those huge, clumsy kinetic weapons should have been thrown into the trash heap long
