There were many such houses in Dawn City, the capital of Dawn Star Planet, mainly in the western part of the city. That area had once been the city center. When construction of the colony had first begun, the first batch of modular housing units dropped in had been located there.
Moreover, there was a river nearby. During the colony's early development, it saved them a great deal of work in drainage and water collection, while also providing food and irrigation water for the agricultural zones. The environment there was quite pleasant as well.
But as the city expanded, the river became an obstacle instead. The city kept spreading northward, and later even the Planetary Administrative Center was moved north. The west side became the old district.
However, the residents of the western district were anything but ordinary.
As the colony's first residents, most of them now held prominent positions in the Fourth Civilization and wielded considerable power. Most of them were also practical men and women who had climbed step by step through their own efforts, devoting more of their energy to work and the development of civilization.
