Still, having a person and a beast stare each other down for three minutes was far too strange.
But Yae Sakura's confusion was soon resolved.
The massive fox before her, covered in wounds, suddenly transformed into a short young girl and rushed toward Yae Sakura with tears and snot streaming down her face.

Yae Sakura froze slightly at the sight of the girl before immediately drawing the katana at her waist with a sharp gaze.
Though the girl before her looked utterly miserable, Yae Sakura had not forgotten that her true form was that giant fox from earlier.
Not long ago, that giant fox had intended to harm both Yae Sakura and the young man standing before her.
And going further back, this fox had caused the deaths of Yae Sakura's fellow villagers.
Well, although Yae Sakura had also been displeased with those villagers who shouted, "What does one girl's life matter for the sake of the village?" kindhearted as she was, she could not truly blame all of it on them.
In Yae Sakura's view, Yae Village had been destroyed entirely because of Hiyorimaru.
As she recalled all this, Hiyorimaru's pitiful appearance gradually overlapped with that giant fox in Yae Sakura's eyes.
"Hey, hey, hey. Did I say... you could leave?"
Before Yae Sakura could slash at Hiyorimaru, Gu Yu, who had likewise awakened from the Consciousness Space, raised the Card Holder Sword in his hand and fired a burst of shots across Hiyorimaru's path.
"Eek!"
Seeing the barrage of light bullets effortlessly tear through the ground, Hiyorimaru immediately shuddered.
Just moments ago, Hiyorimaru, who had intended to seize Gu Yu's body through mental corruption, had been mercilessly beaten up by Gu Yu in the Consciousness Space.
With her body already weakened, Hiyorimaru finally understood why the version of herself in that young man's memories had chosen to become a dumb, adorable little brat.
Obviously, she was not a masochist. Why would she go picking a fight with someone she knew she could not beat???
Was she asking to get beaten up or what?!
Had she not seen Gu Yu's memories, Hiyorimaru might have still sought an opportunity to seize their bodies, escape to live freely, and immediately begin her revenge against humanity.
But while getting beaten up, Hiyorimaru sorted through her thoughts and completely gave up thinking.
According to that young man's memories, the current human world had three major factions.
First was Anti-Entropy—no need to say more. That traitor, the First Herrscher, was actually taking a pile of man-made mechs to fight Herrschers. Was something wrong with that guy's brain?
Then there was Schicksal, the largest organization at present—the Overseer, Otto Apocalypse, had once had a fiancée five hundred years ago.
Although his fiancée, Kallen, had accidentally been killed by a Honkai Beast Otto himself had released, Hiyorimaru knew that this white-haired nun had once fought her.
And that white-haired nun had once been Yae Sakura's lover.
The information in the young man's mind clearly showed Otto's obsession with Kallen. That man's attachment to Kallen was so extreme that he had even chosen to create Herrschers.
If Otto discovered that Hiyorimaru had fought his fiancée, or if, after taking Yae Sakura's body, Hiyorimaru made Otto think that she had stolen his wife and cuckolded him...
That man would definitely make her wish she were dead!
Then there was the final organization, World Serpent.
Though this organization was still lying low for now, its leader, Kevin Kaslana, had been the strongest anti-Honkai warrior fifty thousand years ago.
And, as it happened, Hiyorimaru was the chief culprit responsible for reducing the previous era's population to five digits fifty thousand years ago.
It could be said that Hiyorimaru had made tremendous contributions to forcing Kevin and his wife, Dr. MEI, into a desperate situation so quickly.
Well, from that perspective, she, Hiyorimaru, seemed to be one of Kevin's wife-killers too.

After thinking it over, Hiyorimaru suddenly realized that the safest place for her was actually this Stigmata Space.
She no longer planned to seek revenge. She just wanted to keep her head down and survive.
Thus, she set her sights on Yae Sakura.
As long as she acted a little cute, just like in the memories within that young man's mind, perhaps Yae Sakura would be just like she had been in those memories...
At that thought, Hiyorimaru, whose path had been blocked by Gu Yu's bullets, dropped to her knees before Yae Sakura with a thud in a tiger-pounce landing pose.
"Big Sis Yae Sakura! Big Brother Gu Yu! I was wrong! I really was!"
"Please spare me! I just want to stay in this Stigmata Space. I won't go anywhere!"
"Don't kill me! Please!"
Yet, looking at Hiyorimaru being so humble, Yae Sakura only felt that this girl did not match that giant fox at all.
Thinking about it from that angle—the possibility that this giant fox was putting on an act was not low.
At the thought of her opponent's actual combat strength, Yae Sakura silently retreated several steps.
She wanted to cut this girl down with one stroke, but she also understood that she was no match for her.
It was better to leave everything to that young man's judgment.
"Oh? You don't want to die?"
After strolling over to Hiyorimaru's side, Gu Yu asked with interest.
"If I kill you, all your Honkai Energy will be mine. Come on, then..."
"—Give me one reason not to kill you, Herrscher."
Hearing no apparent killing intent in Gu Yu's tone, Hiyorimaru immediately replied without daring to raise her head.
"As long as you don't kill me, I'll do whatever you want!"
"Wow, hearing that makes me feel like a villain."
Once he sensed that Hiyorimaru could no longer weaken his stigmata, Gu Yu took a card from his Rider Card Holder.
No Rider was depicted on the front of the card.
Simply put, it was a blank Rider Card.
"One of the Power of Decade's abilities is to seal three-dimensional objects into two dimensions, then release them when needed."
Gu Yu lightly tossed the blank card toward Hiyorimaru and spoke indifferently.
"Let's run an experiment. Whether you survive will depend on your luck."
