There were countless posts on the Player Forum, a chaotic mix of topics, with new threads appearing almost every second.
There were announcements and news issued by the forum's organizer, the Xia Kingdom Special Administration Bureau, personal experience-sharing posts from skilled civilian players, requests for help from newcomers, and quite a few posts from non-players as well.
Wang Zhifan's original self had made inquiries through many channels to obtain an invitation code for this secret forum. Then, after lurking for a long time and searching through various avenues, he had spent all his savings to buy the Blade Warrior Class Card from Brother Qiang.
Most of the information on this forum no longer felt particularly fresh to Wang Zhifan, since he already had similar knowledge in his memories. What he was currently more concerned with were the overall development trends of the player community and the Special Administration Bureau's latest movements.
After all, the Special Administration Bureau was basically unknown to the general public. Most people would assume it was some kind of police organization, while the bureau itself kept an extremely low profile and rarely released any information to ordinary citizens. They primarily published official information on this Player Forum, using it to influence Xia Kingdom's player community.
After browsing the Player Forum for a while, Wang Zhifan went on to do other relaxing things, such as watching movies, reading novels, or going out to find a restaurant for a meal. A person's mind needed both tension and relaxation; it could not remain taut all the time.
After spending the rest of the uneventful day, and getting a peaceful night's rest, a new day soon arrived.
At eight o'clock that morning, Wang Zhifan woke up in his Rental House. After washing up, he went outside and ate two bowls of beef noodles to fill his stomach. Following another half hour of rest, he opened his Player Panel and chose to enter a Dungeon.
Every day, every player had the right to enter a Dungeon once. Players confident in their abilities could run one every day, while less confident players could choose to run one only once a week. That weekly run was mandatory—at least, such a mechanism existed at Wang Zhifan's current level.
As the young man in the rental room confirmed his choice with a thought, his figure quickly vanished from his room and entered the Dungeon world.
This time, he arrived in a flat grassland. As far as the eye could see, the ground was covered in lush green weeds, while above was a blue sky dotted with a few white clouds. The only discordant sight was a massive tusked beast a hundred meters away, rooting through the earth and digging a pit.
Dungeon Objective: Kill the nearby boar (Lv3).
"Another animal-type enemy. This Dungeon really has no originality."
The moment Wang Zhifan spotted the huge creature rooting in the distance, he had guessed the objective of this Dungeon. He had originally hoped for a more interesting enemy, but it seemed that was impossible at his current level.
Since this opponent looked thick-skinned and difficult to deal with, Wang Zhifan turned to look at his two teammates, hoping they could cooperate properly to clear the Dungeon.
This time, both of his teammates were men. One was a short, fat seventeen- or eighteen-year-old with empty hands. Not only was his build somewhat lacking, but he also wore a pair of nearsighted glasses. He was probably a homebody student.
When Wang Zhifan looked at him, he was staring fixedly at the Giant Boar still digging in the distance. His entire body trembled, and his face was pale.
"What's wrong with this guy?"
Confusion immediately appeared in Wang Zhifan's eyes. It was his first time seeing such a strange teammate. The other person had no weapon at all, making it impossible to tell what class he was, and his overall state was clearly abnormal. He looked like he had come to serve himself up as the boar's meal.
Wang Zhifan then shifted his attention to the other teammate. This person looked much more normal. He was a young man in his early twenties of average height, dressed in a black windbreaker and carrying a black-and-gray Handgun. He was likely a Gunner player.
When Wang Zhifan looked at him, the man was glaring disdainfully at the trembling short, fat youth beside him.
"Ahem. Before we start fighting, we should probably discuss a strategy first."
Seeing that neither of his teammates had any intention of speaking, Wang Zhifan took the lead and broke the slightly awkward silence.
"Discuss what? With teammates like this, won't I have to carry the whole thing myself?"
The pale, trembling short, fat youth showed no obvious reaction to Wang Zhifan's words. Only the Windbreaker Youth responded, his expression slightly irritated. He was probably extremely dissatisfied about being matched with such a strange teammate.
"You're a melee class? Are you Lv3?"
The Windbreaker Youth then raised his head with a slight frown and looked at Wang Zhifan, who wore Wolf Pelt Armor and held the Wolf Slayer Blade.
"I'm Lv1."
Wang Zhifan immediately displayed his level marker, showing his current level.
"Fuck! You're only Lv1?!"
The Windbreaker Youth stared at the level marker above Wang Zhifan's head and blurted out a curse. A complicated expression appeared on his face, somewhere between shock and anger.
"Fine! Fine! Fine! This Dungeon really thinks highly of me! Listen up, I'm an Lv2 Gunner! You two will go in first and follow my orders! Create opportunities for me to deal damage! That's the only way we'll clear this, understand?"
The Gunner player then spoke to Wang Zhifan and the trembling short, fat youth in a deeply displeased tone.
"Why do we have to go first? Can't you fire first instead?"
Wang Zhifan was somewhat displeased by the man's rude attitude, so he replied accordingly.
"What the hell do you know? Do you think that Lv3 boar can be killed with a few shots? If a Gunner like me starts the fight and it locks onto me, we're all fucked! If you don't understand, then stop spouting bullshit!"
The Windbreaker Youth replied to Wang Zhifan even more rudely.
"Heh. I suggest you watch your mouth."
The man's arrogant attitude had already annoyed Wang Zhifan. He no longer wanted to cooperate with this guy. He only felt that this opponent would be difficult to kill quickly by himself—not that he could not kill it.
"Oh, fuck! Who the hell are you that I need to respect you?!"
The Windbreaker Youth became even angrier at Wang Zhifan's response. From the look of it, he seemed ready to start a fight with him.
Before Wang Zhifan could respond again, the short, fat teammate who had been trembling beside them suddenly screamed.
"I don't want to die... I don't want to die! I don't want to die! Ahhh!!!"
As he shouted, he took off running into the distance—away from the Giant Boar a hundred meters away, away from Wang Zhifan and the Windbreaker Youth—running farther and farther away. He was actually trying to flee before the battle began! "Fuck! How did I end up with two trash teammates like you?!"
Seeing the short, fat youth sprint away without any intention of joining the fight, the Windbreaker Youth immediately began cursing loudly.
Wang Zhifan, standing nearby, also watched the short, fat youth run farther and farther away with a speechless expression. He could only sigh that today had truly opened his eyes—he had actually encountered teammates this bizarre.
