You have passed the Punishment Round and are beginning to leave the Dungeon...
After piercing the Masked Saberist through the heart with a single slash, Wang Zhifan immediately saw the notification that he had cleared the round. Yet his mood was anything but light.
That was because, at the very end of his fight against this Punishment Round enemy, he had been somewhat careless. He had not expected the opponent to fear death so little, resulting in his waist and abdomen taking a solid hit from the man's broken saber.
Fortunately, Wang Zhifan was currently wearing Fine Grade Wolf Pelt Armor, which provided fairly good physical defense. Moreover, because he had remained in the Tiger Force state the entire time, his slash inflicted simultaneous damage to the Masked Saberist's body and soul, killing him instantly. The enemy never had a chance for a final outburst, so the area Wang Zhifan had been struck by the broken saber was not actually injured. It only left a shallow dent in the Wolf Pelt Armor.
This Punishment Round had probably lasted only three minutes in total, but Wang Zhifan found it quite dangerous. If his personal attributes, equipment, and skill levels had not far surpassed those of players at the same level, he would very likely have died in this Punishment Round, or at least suffered serious injuries.
Do not think that being seriously injured in a Punishment Round was no big deal. The mechanics of a Punishment Round were vastly different from those of an ordinary Dungeon.
Besides offering no rewards whatsoever for clearing it, a Punishment Round would not heal players when they left. In other words, if a player defeated an enemy in a Punishment Round at the cost of severe injuries, they would remain seriously injured after leaving the Dungeon and returning to reality. It was entirely possible for them to die the moment they got back.
Thus, the mechanics of Punishment Rounds were highly intimidating to players. A Dungeon with no rewards that brought nothing but supply losses, bodily pain, and even death was not somewhere any player wanted to be thrown into.
After a brief daze, Wang Zhifan realized that he had left the Moonlit Mountain Top and the Punishment Round. But instead of returning to the Great Wild Boar Dungeon world, he had gone directly back to reality—to his Rental House.
"Damn! I haven't chosen my rewards yet!"
The moment Wang Zhifan realized he had not returned to the grasslands, his blood pressure spiked. But he soon saw the reward selection panel for the Great Wild Boar Dungeon slowly appear before him. Entering a Punishment Round had not swallowed up his unclaimed rewards; he could still choose them himself.
"That's at least somewhat user-friendly. If they threw me into a Punishment Round and swallowed the rewards I was supposed to get, I really wouldn't be able to take it."
Having gone through an unexpected Punishment Round, Wang Zhifan was feeling rather unsettled. But before reflecting on his own actions, he decided to choose his Dungeon rewards first.
"No need to look at the Common Grade stuff... I can choose Fine Grade armor, firearms, bullets, and skill scrolls... These rings seem pretty decent too..."
Wang Zhifan noticed that each of the rings on the Great Wild Boar Dungeon's reward list had its own merits.
Unyielding Ring (Fine Grade) When you wear this ring, your health recovery speed increases by 200%. This effect is doubled while you are seriously injured.
Fury Ring (Fine Grade) When you wear this ring, your Strength Attribute increases by 3, while your Agility and Spirit Attributes each decrease by 1.
Tusk Ring (Fine Grade) This ring is also a concealed weapon. You can use it to unexpectedly fire a tusk at an enemy within fifteen meters, dealing physical damage equal to 10% of Lv. 3 Wild Boar Charge each time. It can be fired three times per day.
This Unyielding Ring looks pretty good. It's basically like having a weaker version of Healing Spell permanently on me... The Fury Ring is somewhat useful for a physical class like mine... The concealed-weapon feature of the Tusk Ring is pretty novel too...
After examining these Fine Grade rewards on the list, Wang Zhifan shifted his attention to the most crucial Rare Grade reward.
Iron Mountain Belt (Rare Grade) When you wear this lightweight belt, every 1 point of Constitution Attribute you possess grants you 0.6% physical damage reduction. This belt can grant up to 60% physical damage reduction.
Up to 60% physical damage reduction? I only need 100 points in Constitution Attribute to get such a powerful effect! I currently have 18 points in Constitution Attribute, so wearing it would give me more than 10% physical damage reduction! Why is an artifact like this only Rare Grade?
After reading the description of the Rare Grade Iron Mountain Belt on the reward list, Wang Zhifan found it hard to believe that this Rare Grade reward was so powerful. A full 60% physical damage reduction—percentage-based damage reduction like this did not seem like it should merely be at the Rare Grade level.
Could it be because of penetration attributes? Does that make such high damage reduction not that useful after all?
Wang Zhifan then recalled that the Wolf Slayer Blade in his hand had 40% physical penetration. The Wolf Slayer Blade was also Rare Grade equipment, yet it directly possessed as much as 40% physical penetration without requiring any other attribute conditions. From that, he inferred that higher-grade weapons would surely have even greater penetration attributes. Thus, even if some player stacked their damage reduction to 100%, it did not necessarily mean they could withstand attacks head-on.
No matter what, this is definitely good equipment. I hope I get a chance to raise my Constitution Attribute to 100 someday.
Without thinking too much further, Wang Zhifan made his final selections. The reward panel before him quickly vanished, and three items appeared out of thin air: a black leather belt, a silver-white Handgun, and a yellow gemstone ring.
The black leather belt was naturally the Rare Grade Iron Mountain Belt. The silver-white Handgun was the Fine Grade firearm he had chosen, as well as the only firearm-type weapon on the previous reward list. The yellow gemstone ring was the Fine Grade Unyielding Ring.
Originally, after obtaining the Handgun of the Windbreaker Youth he had encountered in the Dungeon, Wang Zhifan had not planned to choose another gun. But he discovered that this Fine Grade firearm was considerably better than a Common Grade one. Since he wanted to use guns, he needed a high-quality one. Otherwise, without either shooting skill or a good firearm, such a weapon would not be very meaningful in his hands.
Handgun (Fine Grade) Compared to a Common Grade Handgun, this Handgun's shooting accuracy is increased by approximately 20%, and its magazine capacity is increased by 4 rounds, allowing it to hold up to 12 bullets.
Wang Zhifan still had 10 Fine Grade Handgun Bullets in his Personal Space, which were perfect for use with this Fine Grade weapon. Fine Grade Handgun Bullets also had significant advantages over Common Grade bullets.
Handgun Bullet (Fine Grade) These Fine Grade Bullets are approximately 30% more powerful than Common Grade Bullets. They are also more stable and have a lower ricochet rate.
