"You're still clinging to what books are good to read? If you truly want to cultivate the Dao, don't read too many books—or rather, don't go seeking the Dao in all kinds of books.

Listen less to those self-cultivation lectures given by so-called great virtuous masters as well. Listen too much, and they'll stuff your head with a pile of concepts. Those concepts are the source of the Conscious Spirit.

A person controlled by concepts has the Conscious Spirit running the house—that is, the old sixth, the operating mechanism with the six consciousnesses as its main body.

Go look at flowers, trees, wind, clouds, little pigs—or rather, go look at the great Dao of nature.

What many people talk about is, more often than not, merely personal prejudice.

No matter what title they carry, it is nothing more than a person chatting idly through their own framework of concepts and principles.
