Alchemy scriptures often say: 'This aperture is no ordinary aperture; heaven and earth together form it. It is called the Spirit-Energy Acupoint, and within it lie the essences of Kan and Li.' This means that this aperture is not an ordinary bodily opening, but the 'pass' or 'gate' where spirit—consciousness—and qi—life energy—meet and interact under a particular state.

Second: the master mechanism of cultivation. It is the 'switch' for entering the innate state. Ordinarily, we dwell in the scattered mind of the acquired state, ruled by thoughts and emotions.
