Some mysteries and principles, even when spoken aloud, remained forever beyond the reach of those whose foundation and roots were insufficient.
Perhaps beings like Jia You and Akshobhya Buddha had been deemed by their respective Outer Void Saints to have no such fate. That was why they could not even be bothered to tell them the mysteries of the Primordial Mark.
Or, to think more boldly, perhaps they were already a mere mouthful of bloody food upon the dinner plates of the Outside Void Existences, and naturally had no need to know what they should not know.
Deep within the dim gray clouds, an enormous ancient Buddhist hall hung silently in the air. Akshobhya Buddha's face was gloomy, and suppressed fury flickered from time to time in his eyes.
Yet he still retained his reason. With his palms pressed together, maintaining at least a semblance of piety, he sat cross-legged before a dull gray Buddha statue upon a Nine-Ranked Lotus Platform and chanted aloud.
"Your disciple Akshobhya has long since reached the Nine Rings. I once believed that the Primordial Beginning cannot become Saint, that the road ahead was severed, and so I drifted through life in a muddle, wishing only to protect the overall situation of the Ruined Remains for our Western Heaven."
"But after witnessing what happened today... only then did your disciple realize that above the Nine Rings, there is still another heaven and earth!"
"That rootless drifting duckweed, Daoist Qingyun, can grasp such a method. Could it be that Akshobhya, a Quasi-Saint of the Buddhist gate who has guarded the Ruined Remains with painstaking diligence, is inferior even to a mere duckweed?"
"Please, Saint, bestow the method! Please, Saint, bestow the method..."
By the end of his chanting, a droning sound was already piercing the heavens
