Background / History

Youmo Sect enforcer

The Thousand Ghost King was the Youmo Sect's Grand Elder and one of its most feared demonic cultivators. Sent by King Youmo to attack the Lu Family, he overwhelmed Uncle Chen, a peak Body Integration cultivator, and intended to destroy Qingfeng Town after Lu Jiuyuan refused the sect. 20

He reacted violently when mocked for his mask. While still a Nascent Soul cultivator, he had been injured by a Void Refining expert; after later reaching Body Integration, he tortured that opponent to death and burned them. 20

Subjugation by the Lu Family

Lu Changsheng easily restrained him with Immortal Bind before he could flee. Facing execution, the Thousand Ghost King accepted Lu Jiuyuan's request to become a guard and swore a Heavenly Dao Oath never to betray the Lu Family. 21

The oath placed his life under the Lu Family's control: breaking it would bring the Heavenly Dao's Nine Heavens Lightning Tribulation upon him. His foremost duty became protecting Lu Jiuyuan. 21

Growth under Lu Jiuyuan

While traveling with Lu Jiuyuan, he resumed using his blood-refining cultivation method against hostile demonic beasts and cultivators with Lu Jiuyuan's approval. He could absorb both blood energy and the target's memories, allowing him to recover cultivation rapidly. 39 40

Lu Jiuyuan later took his Heaven Grade Blood Refining Saint Breaking Method, perfected it into the Immortal Grade Origin Refining Saint Breaking Method, and gave it back to him. The improved art allowed him to refine the origin and energy of all things, including lightning tribulation. 134 135 151
