Nothing unexpected happened along the way. At midnight, Shuichi decided to rest for six hours, choosing a relatively open area.
Out of caution, Shuichi set numerous traps on the side with more trees and summoned several snakes to lie in wait in dark corners.
The first night was rather difficult. Although the Ninja Academy had taught them how to rest while remaining alert, and they had practiced it many times before,
the first real experience still left Shuichi unaccustomed to it. He also took turns keeping watch with Orochimaru during the night, so the quality of his sleep was inevitably a little poor.
By sunrise on the second day, he had nevertheless restored himself to peak condition with the system's passive recovery skill.
Without compromising their combat strength, the two-man squad rushed at full speed toward the scene. They reached the village near the Land of Fire Border that afternoon.
The village was not located on the plains. Since it was near the intersection of several countries, it was normally rather difficult to find.
As they drew closer to the Land of Rain, the terrain began to grow more complicated.
The roads leading from Konoha to the Land of Rain were relatively narrow, with only a few winding paths between the mountains.
Perhaps that was why the Land of Rain received rain year-round. Nestled among the mountains, its climate was entirely different from that of the Land of Fire.
Using the mission intelligence in hand, Shuichi and Orochimaru circled around several small hills before discovering the village.
Why would this group attack such a remote village? Before they had even approached, doubts arose in Shuichi's mind.
By all reason, a village like this was relatively poor. There were no vast fields nearby, only terraced farmland on the small hills.
