Chapter Summaries

Shuichi promoted Konoha's new Chunin, inspected people and research recovered from Orochimaru's bases, and helped Takuma make amends after accidentally injuring a playmate. He resolved to begin teaching Takuma chakra training as they headed home.

• Shuichi congratulated Konoha's newly promoted Chunin and approved Hozuki Suigetsu and Terumi An's promotions with Kirigakure's agreement.
• Anbu reported that the Third Squad had returned with captives, documents, and equipment from an Orochimaru base, and Shuichi inspected the recovered subjects and research.
• Haku told Shuichi that Takuma had accidentally injured a child with Explosion Release and was hiding at home in distress.
• Shuichi comforted Takuma and explained that strength should protect others, then took him to apologize to Yuna and her family.
• Shuichi and Takuma visited the other frightened children and their families, and Shuichi decided to teach Takuma chakra training.

Shuichi encouraged Takuma to pursue his dream of making movies while learning to use Chakra, and prepared his forces for future threats. A Root surveillance team finally tracked down Kakuzu and revealed Shuichi’s clone waiting in ambush.

• Shuichi asked Takuma about his dream, and Takuma said he wanted to travel the world and make movies.
• Shuichi supported Takuma’s ambition and promised to establish Movie Ninja as a profession, while urging him to train and persevere.
• Shuichi prepared six powerful reserve clones for Anbu and Root and received intelligence that their investigation had made important progress.
• Yamanaka Fu’s team identified Kakuzu at his underworld headquarters and followed him out of Akita City.
• The team confronted Kakuzu in the wilderness and summoned a purple-haired Shuichi clone, who greeted him as an old acquaintance.

Shuichi captured Kakuzu and used Shisui’s Kotoamatsukami to turn him into an undercover agent inside the Akatsuki Organization. Later, Shuichi arranged for Kakashi to monitor Ali, a spy whose feelings for him seemed genuine, while planning to feed her false intelligence and take control of her village.

• Shuichi defeated Kakuzu, implanted restraints, and had Shisui use Kotoamatsukami to make him spy on the Akatsuki Organization.
• Kakuzu reported that the Akatsuki had nine members and was preparing to seal tailed beasts with the Nine-Tails Seal.
• Yamanaka Inoichi brought Shuichi a captured spy named Ali, whose missing memories and recurring thoughts involved Kakashi.
• Shuichi discovered that Ali was a ninja from Suokian Village in the Land of Keys and told Kakashi to monitor her closely.
• Shuichi explained that Konoha would feed Ali chosen or false intelligence and planned to infiltrate and take control of Suokian Village.

Shuichi forced Isobu to help reshape the Land of Fire’s coast, then promised Naruto another chance at an S-rank mission. Months later, the Akatsuki began extracting the Six-Tails from Utakata, and Team 7 received orders to join an S-rank mission under Itachi.

• Shuichi made Isobu dig a canal to the sea and grow trees along its banks, then subdued him when he resisted.
• Naruto argued with Shuichi about being promoted to Chunin, and Shuichi promised Team 7 priority consideration for the next S-rank mission.
• Kakuzu secretly left a Scroll outside the Akatsuki’s extraction site as Pain and the others began drawing the Six-Tails from Utakata.
• Kakashi received Shuichi’s orders to return to Konoha while Team 7 stayed behind to prepare for an S-rank mission.
• Kakashi told Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke that Itachi would lead them, and Sasuke and Sakura welcomed the assignment.

Shuichi captured Black Zetsu and learned where the Akatsuki was sealing the Six-Tails. He then led a Konoha force into the cave, where the Akatsuki members prepared to face them.

• Pain learned from Zetsu that three squads of Kirigakure Anbu were approaching and ordered Zetsu to delay them while the sealing continued.
• Shuichi ambushed Black and White Zetsu, trapping them in a sealed bowl and immobilizing Black Zetsu with Black Rods.
• Shuichi used White Zetsu to learn the Akatsuki's location and sent word to the Konoha ninja waiting at the border.
• White Zetsu told Pain that its main body had lost contact, but Pain ordered the remaining clones to keep watch and the sealing to continue.
• Shuichi and thirteen Konoha ninja broke through the cave entrance and confronted the Akatsuki as the Six-Tails' sealing neared completion.

Shuichi ambushed Deidara and Obito, killed Obito, and took his Kamui eye before turning his attention to the remaining Akatsuki members. Meanwhile, Konoha's forces attacked the Akatsuki team sealing a tailed beast, while Kakuzu escaped and Hidan was surrounded.

• Pain ordered the Akatsuki members to retreat after their Illusionary Body Techniques vanished, and Nagato summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path to escape.
• Konoha's elites attacked Kisame, the short Amegakure Ninja, Kakuzu, and Hidan; Kakuzu escaped underground, and the Anbu squad surrounded Hidan.
• Kotaro reported Deidara and Tobi's location to Kakashi, who used Kamui to send Shuichi's clones to the site.
• Shuichi ambushed Deidara and Tobi with Yin-Yang Release bullets, then waited for Obito to reappear.
• Shuichi outmaneuvered Obito, used a sealing formula to disrupt his intangibility, and killed him before taking his right eye and acquiring Kamui.
• Shuichi learned that the operation in the Land of Rivers was complete and decided to deal with the Land of Rain next.

Shuichi defeated Pain and Konan in Amegakure, then returned to Konoha and revived Orochimaru to recruit him for a hunt for Kabuto and research into the Rinnegan. The story ended with Konoha flourishing and Shuichi declaring that the coming era would bear his name.

• Shuichi invaded Amegakure, fought the Six Paths of Pain, and destroyed them with his clones and Susanoo.
• Nagato and Konan fled, but Shuichi pursued them and killed them with a lightning slash before leaving Amegakure.
• Shuichi helped Konoha capture or kill most of the remaining White Zetsu, while sealing many for experiments.
• Shuichi revived Orochimaru and offered him Madara's corpse and research resources in exchange for helping locate and eliminate Kabuto.
• Shuichi looked over a thriving Konoha and declared that the coming era would be called Takeda Shuichi.
