Uzumaki Clan Sealing Jutsu

After Ōnoki and his group returned to Iwagakure, the two advisors went to settle the Uzumaki clan members, while Ōnoki personally summoned every ninja in the Barrier Team who knew B-rank Sealing Jutsu or above.

Naturally, Yichen was not left out.

In a meeting room within the Tsuchikage's Office Building, he was completely dumbfounded when he saw the vast number of A-rank and B-rank Sealing Jutsu casually piled across the table.

So even I, who thought I knew the future, was just an ordinary person whose imagination had been limited by poverty.

Besides the hundreds of A-rank and B-rank Sealing Jutsu, more than ten S-rank Sealing Jutsu had been neatly arranged at the far end of the table. This was truly becoming rich overnight.

Seeing this, Yichen even suspected that Ōnoki and the others had emptied out the Uzumaki Clan's entire collection of Sealing Jutsu.

Stunned, Yichen asked Ōnoki, "Lord Tsuchikage, you didn't empty out the Uzumaki Clan's Sealing Jutsu collection, did you?"

The others also turned to look at Ōnoki. Clearly, they had the same question.

But Ōnoki shook his head. "The Uzumaki Clan's collection of Sealing Jutsu is far greater than we imagined. This time, the Four Great Nations robbed them together. We couldn't go too far, or we would have drawn a joint attack, so we only took a portion."

"Also, the Uzumaki Clan likely had many Sealing Jutsu that were never recorded. Those techniques existed only in the memories of Uzumaki clan members. We didn't kill anyone or seize any corpses, so those Sealing Jutsu were probably divided among the other three nations."

After hearing Ōnoki's explanation, this group of country bumpkins could only nod blankly, completely unsure how to express their feelings.

Unlike the original story, when the Land of Earth, Land of Lightning, and Land of Water besieged the Land of Whirlpools, the people of the Land of Whirlpools knew their destruction was imminent and destroyed most of their Sealing Jutsu in advance.

The ninjas of the three nations could only search the corpses of Uzumaki clan members for memories of Sealing Jutsu.

Though their gains had still been plentiful, the collection had ultimately been incomplete.

But now, when Ōnoki broke into Uzushio Village, the Uzumaki clan members and Konoha's people were still resisting the invasion of the Land of Water and Land of Lightning. They had not had time to destroy the Sealing Jutsu.

Thus, Ōnoki had gotten a bargain.

After their excitement subsided, everyone began sorting through the pile of Sealing Jutsu scrolls. The first step was classification. Following Ōnoki's instructions, they divided them into two broad categories: combat-type Sealing Jutsu and non-combat-type Sealing Jutsu.

The Uzumaki Clan truly was extraordinary. Of the several hundred scrolls, more than seventy percent were combat-type Sealing Jutsu.

After sorting them, they screened them again and selected the Sealing Jutsu with relatively low Chakra Amount requirements.

The result was staggering. Of the several hundred Sealing Jutsu, over ninety percent required an enormous amount of Chakra to use. Only several dozen did not have particularly high Chakra requirements.

But Yichen noticed that even those with less demanding Chakra requirements were still beyond what he, whose Chakra Amount was a weakness, could attempt.

Yichen was somewhat disappointed. His hope of greatly increasing his Combat Power through Sealing Jutsu had been crushed.

Yichen was not the only one disappointed. The others generally had better Chakra Amounts than he did, but they could only use two or three techniques as well.

Ōnoki sighed. "Having two or three is already good. Besides, the greatest value of these Sealing Jutsu is for us to study them and develop Sealing Jutsu suitable for Iwagakure's ninjas."

Everyone thought that made sense. The village was not in urgent need of Sealing Jutsu now, and they had plenty of time to organize them.

Then Ōnoki announced the rank and number of Sealing Jutsu each person was permitted to read.

For example, the four Jonin who had reached, or barely reached, A-rank could select one S-rank, five A-rank, and fifty B-rank Sealing Jutsu to study.

Those who had reached B-rank could select two A-rank and ten B-rank Sealing Jutsu to study.

Yichen's situation was special. Ōnoki allowed him to study one S-rank, three A-rank, and fifteen B-rank Sealing Jutsu.

No one objected to this allocation. Everyone had seen Yichen's contributions, and subconsciously, they all regarded him as someone comparable to several A-rank Jonin.

Yichen himself was also satisfied. Although he had developed the Five Elements Sealing Jutsu, he had not actually seen even one complete A-rank Sealing Jutsu apart from that.

What excited him most was that the village had granted this permission for free. He did not need to spend any contributions, and if he gained any insights, the village would even provide rewards.

All at once, Yichen felt Sensory Ninjutsu beckoning to him.

For the next half year, Yichen devoted himself entirely to researching Sealing Jutsu.

Aside from practicing Earth Style: Earth Rising Spear once a day and maintaining his regular physical training, he even reduced his practice with kunai and Shuriken.

The Uzumaki Clan's Sealing Jutsu formed its own system and differed greatly from Iwagakure's Sealing Jutsu. It was difficult to get started, but the rewards were immense. It completely opened the door to a new world for Yichen.

Over half a year, Yichen thoroughly analyzed fifteen B-rank Sealing Jutsu and three A-rank Sealing Jutsu.

One of those three A-rank Sealing Jutsu was the Five Elements Sealing Jutsu.

Yichen carefully compared the Uzumaki Clan's Five Elements Sealing Jutsu with the version he had researched alongside Meishe and the others.

By corroborating the two against each other, Yichen gained more than he had from studying the other two A-rank Sealing Jutsu combined.

Over the past half year, Yichen's Sealing Jutsu had advanced by leaps and bounds.

Yichen could clearly feel that as long as he had enough Chakra, using A-rank Sealing Jutsu would not be a problem at all.

As for B-rank Sealing Jutsu, Yichen's Chakra Amount had now reached 6.2C.

With Soldier Pills continuously supplying Chakra, Yichen had long since successfully used a B-rank Sealing Jutsu with relatively low Chakra consumption: Chakra Masking. (The practical combat use of Soldier Pills would be explained in detail later.)

This Sealing Jutsu was not very useful in battle. It was used to conceal Chakra fluctuations and evade Sensory Ninjutsu.

If he were behind enemy lines and needed to hide his tracks, however, this Sealing Jutsu would be quite useful.

It could be considered a support method.

While researching Sealing Jutsu, Yichen felt that his greatest gain was his conjecture about the essence of Sealing Jutsu.

Previously, Yichen had not known the principles behind Sealing Jutsu. But now, he vaguely felt that Sealing Jutsu worked by mobilizing Natural Energy to form a new kind of Chakra similar to Sage Chakra.

This raised the Chakra Level of the Chakra within Sealing Jutsu, allowing it to restrain Lifeforms with enormous Chakra Amounts, such as tailed beasts.

Yichen had reached this conclusion during his research into the three A-rank Sealing Jutsu.

Calling it a discovery was not quite accurate. He had no evidence to prove it. Rather, it was only through his rapidly improving Mental Power, which gave him senses far beyond those of ordinary people, that he detected a slight clue.

To fully understand it, Yichen felt that the breakthrough would have to lie in S-rank Sealing Jutsu.

So he used his permission to read an S-rank Sealing Jutsu.

This permission only allowed Yichen to study one S-rank Sealing Jutsu. No matter what kind he learned, he would be unable to use it, so his purpose was not to cast it, but to gain inspiration.

The focus of that inspiration was unlike his previous studies, where he selected Sealing Jutsu that could offer him design ideas. This time, he chose a Sealing Jutsu that could help him find the connection between Sealing Jutsu and Natural Energy.

So, among the dozen or so S-rank Sealing Jutsu, Yichen selected an elemental sealing technique.

The effect of this seal was very strange. It seemed to offer virtually no help in battle—not only no direct help, but no indirect help either.

This Sealing Jutsu was called Fire Domain Sealing Jutsu.

Once activated, it created an extremely vast space that was relatively independent from the outside world.

Flames could randomly appear out of thin air within this space, but their temperature was not very high.

Although they could harm the body, a ninja only needed to create a shell similar to rock armor around themselves to safely run out.

Yet the Chakra Amount consumed by this Fire Domain Sealing Jutsu was immense, even far greater than that of ordinary S-rank Ninjutsu.

Yichen had chosen this S-rank seal because ninjas needed Chakra to cast Ninjutsu. Therefore, logically speaking, generating flames should gradually consume the Chakra maintaining the Sealing Jutsu.

But strangely, the description of this S-rank Sealing Jutsu stated that if the seal was not released, the flames would continue to appear until they filled the entire range of the Sealing Jutsu, at which point it would burst open with a bang.

Yichen did not need to calculate to know that the Chakra required to produce such an enormous amount of flame would vastly exceed the Chakra expended when the Sealing Jutsu was cast.

This was remarkable. Among the dozen or so S-rank Sealing Jutsu, it was the only one explicitly capable of creating Chakra out of thin air.

Yichen did not hesitate and selected this seal immediately. This Fire Domain Sealing Jutsu could not be taken away or copied. Yichen could only read it, though fortunately there was no limit on the number of times he could do so.

The content of the Fire Domain Sealing Jutsu was extremely vast, and the Sealing Jutsu knowledge it mentioned was more than a level higher than that of A-rank Sealing Jutsu.

Yichen had a feeling that if A-rank Sealing Jutsu belonged to the level of techniques, then S-rank belonged to something akin to the level of the Dao. It contained many things that could neither be explained nor clearly understood.

Perhaps because the person who recorded it believed no one would study this Sealing Jutsu, it had not been documented in great detail, and the related terminology was not carefully explained.

Of course, this was also because Yichen was not a ninja who had systematically studied the Uzumaki Clan's Sealing Jutsu.

As he spoke, he handed everyone sheets of paper on which he had long ago written down his interpretations of the terms he had encountered over the past half year.

Everyone accepted them curiously, and their expressions soon became fascinating. Some immediately looked enlightened, while others fell straight into deep thought, as though problems they had not previously understood had suddenly gained a direction.

Yichen did not disturb those immersed in their own thoughts. Instead, he said to those who remained clear-headed, "The Uzumaki Clan's Sealing Jutsu forms its own system, and there are many terms we have never encountered. Everyone, write down your own interpretations of the terms. That will save us all quite a bit of time."

So everyone began writing down the terms they had translated. Before long, those who had been absorbed in their thoughts also came back to their senses and began writing down their own interpretations.

Once everyone had finished, they copied each other's notes. Some felt certain parts were wrong, while others felt they had gained a great deal.

Yichen then suggested that they return and digest the contents translated by the others first, then gather again two days later to discuss what was right and wrong.

Everyone thought the method was feasible, so they dispersed.
