Li Yao glanced at his wrist, then at Alfonso Master across from him.
Alfonso Master felt a little unnerved by Li Yao's silent stare—after all, he wasn't entirely sure whether this newcomer truly was the person from the prophecy.
Li Yao was not the only one who possessed prophetic traits.
In the several thousand years since the Saint Mage disappeared,
several beings with prophetic traits had appeared.
They had not necessarily been human. They might have been elves, dragons, or other intelligent beings.
More or less, they all possessed certain unusual qualities, and they had indeed made something of themselves in the Main World.
And as observers of the entire continent, the mages naturally took notice of them!
Thus,
the Council of Elders masters who oversaw the seal would often seek out those beings with "prophetic traits" to verify the prophecy.
Yet every verification had ended in failure.
Whenever the sealed passage was opened, the starlit Bright Moon within the seal showed no reaction whatsoever.
It simply lingered there, as though it were an eternity unchanged since time immemorial.
Honestly, those moments were rather awkward.
After all, you came up to someone all mysteriously and rambled on about how they were the person from the prophecy, the chosen one, and so on... Then you took out the treasure to check—hey! It did not react at all! Wasn't that awkward? And that was not even the main problem.
The Council of Elders masters had lived for so long. What had they not seen?
A little awkwardness was nothing unusual to them.
The real problem was dealing with the aftermath.
The Saint Mage Prophecy Collection was still quite useful. Though it was not always accurate, it was accurate sometimes, right? In that regard, the mages differed greatly from Boss Li's earlier thinking.
